Deux photographes, Tomas et Sofia, ont vécu à Montréal depuis longtemps, mais Sofia est nostalgique. Un jour, ils se lient d'amitié avec un autre couple, Luisa et Mariano, arrivés ici récemment qui se sentent à la dérive. Dans un moment de désespoir, Luisa parle longuement de la charuflauta, un procédé apparemment efficace contre la mélancolie. Sofia convint alors Tomas qu'ils devraient aider Luisa et Mariano à lancer ensemble une entreprise de charuflauta locale. Tomas est sceptique-- il est le seul à ne pas se souvenir de ce qu'est la charuflauta. Néanmoins, ils fondent tout les quatre une agence dédiée à offrir ce mystérieux service. Quand leurs premiers clients, un autre couple, les appellent et demandent à recevoir ce fameux service, il en découle une poignante série de malentendus comiques.

Photographers Tomas and Sofia have lived in Montreal a long time, but Sofia is feeling homesick for Latin America. One day, they befriend another couple, Luisa and Mariano, recent arrivals who are feeling adrift. In a moment of desperation, Luisa speaks longingly of the charuflauta, a mysterious, apparently curative procedure for the melancholy. Sofia convinces Tomas they should help Luisa and Mariano launch a local charuflauta business. Though he admits he doesn’t have a clue what it’s all about, Tomas indulges his wife, and soon enough the four partners start up an agency dedicated to providing this exotic service. When their first clients call them up and enthusiastically request the enigmatic procedure, a poignant comedy of errors ensues.
